Opening Morning Prayer…
Guided Prayers
A short prayer to begin the day — a psalm, a brief reading, intercessions, and the Our Father. There is one for each day of the week.
Opening
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Before the week’s work begins, we give its first minutes to God.
Psalm
Psalm 100 · NABRE
A psalm of thanksgiving. Shout joyfully to the LORD, all you lands;
serve the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful song.
Know that the LORD is God, he made us, we belong to him, we are his people, the flock he shepherds.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving, his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name;
good indeed is the LORD, His mercy endures forever, his faithfulness lasts through every generation.
Reading
Philippians 4:4–5 · NABRE
Rejoice in the Lord always. I shall say it again: rejoice! Your kindness should be known to all. The Lord is near.
Intercessions
For the work of our hands this week: that we do it well, honestly, and for love of you.
For those who begin the week anxious about money, health, or family: give them your peace.
For our coworkers and all we will meet today: help us to be patient and kind.
For the unemployed and those seeking work: open a door, Lord, and keep their hope alive.
Lord, hear our prayer.
The Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Tomorrow morning, the next day's prayer will be here. Back to Pray.
