Opening Morning Prayer…
Guided Prayers
A short prayer to begin the day — a psalm, a brief reading, intercessions, and the Our Father. There is one for each day of the week.
Opening
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
We begin quietly, in the middle of an ordinary week, because God is here in the ordinary too.
Psalm
Psalm 150 · NABRE
Hallelujah! Praise God in his holy sanctuary; give praise in the mighty dome of heaven.
Give praise for his mighty deeds, praise him for his great majesty.
Give praise with blasts upon the horn, praise him with harp and lyre.
Give praise with tambourines and dance, praise him with strings and pipes.
Give praise with crashing cymbals, praise him with sounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath give praise to the LORD! Hallelujah!
Reading
James 1:17 · NABRE
All good giving and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no alteration or shadow caused by change.
Intercessions
For our families: for love that is patient, forgiveness that is quick, and words that heal.
For parents raising children: give them strength, humor, and rest.
For children and students: guard them today, and help them learn what is good.
For those who live alone: let them feel accompanied, and bring them a friend.
Lord, hear our prayer.
The Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Tomorrow morning, the next day's prayer will be here. Back to Pray.
